Living Antiques - Rediscovering Parma Violets

I tend to become obsessive about learning and researching plants that are new to me, and although I have experimented with growing a few scented violets in the cold greenhouse, I can't say that I have become obsessed about, until now. An article in the latest issue of the Journal HORTUS inspired me over the weekend, to examine growing, once again, the common sweet violet,Viola odorata and the Parma Violet, flowers that once we're the third most popular cut flower in the world, surpassed only by the rose and the carnation. . .reBlogged to on May 17, 2006, 9:42PM
